Cradle Product Feature
Aussie Crates have successfully fitted round objects into square boxes, but when round objects have fragile points protruding from their perimeter, something special is needed for them to sit in safely.
Some 7 ton, circular trommel frames had to be protected with an appropriate type of timber packaging. Using CAD technology, the Aussie Crates team designed and built some pine and ply timber cradles, with recesses to protect the delicate flanges extending from the circular frame.
Strength was achieved by putting together layers of pine and plywood of varying thicknesses and sizes. A grooved base (not shown in the drawing) allowed ratchet straps to secure the trommel frames to the wooden cradles.
Each cradle was 2.7m long and just under 1m high, with 2 cradles needed to hold each of these heavy industrial frames.
No project is too big and no request is too small for Aussie Crates, which is why we are known as The Timber Packaging Professionals.
